I won't be a Blogger Statistic!

Hi Guys! So I haven't posted for a few weeks...I wonder if anyone noticed!?

So much has happened - my laptop died after 9 faithful years, my car was written off (it was parked on the side of the street, I wasn't around), I broke my iPhone (again!) and I've been so busy with bookings that all my free time has been dedicated to attending to all the things that I had to replace (computer, car, phone).

I don't have a new car yet, but I have a computer so keep your eyes out for some reviews and goss. I'll post some today!

It's true that bad luck comes in three's...so I am well due for some very good luck!

A Hint of Myint!

Unrelated to makeup (but you never know!), my friend Arnold Myint, who I met on a plane a few years ago somewhere over Asia, will be on US Top Chef Season 7! It's like our Masterchef but with real chefs!

I wrote a congratulations diddy for him on my facebook status (which he then put on his blog, A Hint of Myint...so cute, and I love the name!).

If you live in the US make sure you watch the show and vote for Arnold!

Of course, if you are ever in Nashville, Tennessee you have to go to one of his very cool restaurants, Cha Chah, Suzy Wong’s House of Yum and PM Cafe!

Mmm yum yum!

Good Things Start With Z!

The Z Palette! Why didn't someone think of this before!? I've wanted one of these baby's for a while! I finally decided to get one today! Of their fine product, Z Palette says:

"The “ultimate customizable makeup palette” was designed to help not only the makeup professional but also the everyday woman get streamlined once and for all. Z Palette is an exclusive universal case with an open magnetic bottom to fit the color pans you want, and none of the ones you don’t. Customize it to fit your needs and be eco-friendly by reducing packaging. In addition, the clear window lets you know immediately what’s inside."

I decanted a 15 small pan MAC palette and a 6 large pan generic palette in to this baby - and it's the same size as the MAC palette! Less palette's in my Kit means more space...and less weight to lug around!

I'm already on my way back to my supplier to buy 2 more for eye shadows and blushes!

Fortunately I have the ZÜCA Pro bag, which makes transporting my Kit so much easier! It has so many compartments and comes with 4 removable zip lock cases so you can just whip out your makeup and start working. It has double wheels so I can take it up and down stairs without upsetting too many of my products, and it doubles as a seat for when I'm on long shoots and need to rest my toots! If you're a makeup artist and you don't have one of these, you should seriously consider getting your little paws on one! You won't know how you survived without it!

If you would like to know where you can purchase either of these products in your area, leave me a comment with your location and I'll let you know!

Thank You!

Starting a blog and not knowing if anyone is going to actually read it is a little bit scary. A lot of effort goes in to the layout (I've already changed it 5 times) and the content...I'm constantly thinking about subjects to write about! Now I just have to get followers!

I've had a couple of friends lately that have been supportive.
Amanda over at Calico & Co, an absolutely gorgeous blog about all things  design, creative and beautiful, wrote me a little diddy and sent me some of her readers! Cotton socks...blessed!
Another Amanda, a Bridal client whose makeup I did a few months ago, has had her wedding featured on so many blogs and in newspapers and each time she doesn't fail to mention me! Today she was featured on Alannah Rose's custom stationery blog...a favourite amongst Brides!  Amanda said "I literally gasped when I saw the makeup on the day, it was flawless”. Sweet!

Thank you girls! xx

I'll leave you with a picture of my new acquisition...my kitsch retro Murano glass Flamingo! I saw this last week at an antique shop in the Blue Mountains when I was shooting at Chemmart (did I mention I had to create warts on the hand of Alex Dimitriadis/Vince Colosimo's stunt double for the new Wog Boy movie!?).
I didn't buy it at the time, but a very special friend took a trip up there yesterday especially to surprise me with it last night!

Getting the blog rolling...

Keeping a blog is something I have wanted to do for a few years now, but life has been getting in the way!
I've decided it's time...it's nearly May 2010! Where did the year go!? Where did the yearS go!?
I have been treating my websites news section as a blog, so it really makes no sense not to blog!
Here you will find snippets of my life as a makeup artist; my work, product reviews and anything beautiful that takes my fancy!
Please bear with me while I get some postings together...I am a little busy with shoots and Brides over the next week but I promise to get the blog rolling!!
